Mairi is an accredited executive coach, qualified facilitator, and certified supervisor. She has worked in the field of management, leadership and organisational development for the past 25 years and currently works in all business sectors. Her signature strengths are curiosity, creativity and love of learning which she brings to her coaching relationships. Mairi’s approach and philosophy is that most adults in the workplace have the desire and capacity to learn and develop. She helps clients find their own solutions by listening attentively and asking incisive and powerful questions. Her practice is informed by different models from coaching, leadership, psychology and systems thinking and she is accredited to administer a range of psychometrics.
Examples of representative coaching assignments include helping managers and leaders to build confidence in their role, understand self and others in relation to change and resilience, develop effective teams, work with conflict and challenge and learn to work collaboratively with stakeholders. With her mental health background, she developed an interest in supporting people in the workplace to be resilient and resourceful and have a positive influence on those they work with. To this end she specialises in emotional and social intelligence, how to build effective work-based relationships and how to manage and lead in times of change. She has an integrated approach to her work incorporating both a micro and macro lens such as neuroscience and systems thinking.
Mairi has a background in the NHS where she held clinical and management roles in learning and development and general management. She then changed career to facilitate and coach leaders and managers. She has co-designed and delivered a range of large-scale leadership and management programmes for the NHS, UK and Scottish Government and third sector organisations. Many of these programmes also provided coaching to participants in the UK and abroad. She has coached clients from all business sectors.
