With an additional 15,000 prison places not expected to be available until 2031, justice sector organisations will be required to continue to adapt and develop the capabilities and capacity to effectively manage the impacts of the prisoner early release schemes.

Given the interconnected and complex nature of the justice system, this Skills for Justice survey seeks to identify opportunities for training and workforce planning that would support the rebalancing of demands in the sector from the prison service.

Your survey responses will help us to better understand the skills and training needs of criminal justice sector and help us to continue to support employers with their skills development and workforce planning.

Anonymised findings from the survey will also be communicated in the media to help raise awareness of further opportunities for training and workforce planning and feed into ongoing policy evaluation work.

Justice sector organisations and unions including the Police Federation, Prison Governors Association, NACRO and Napo are each supporting the survey.
