Our four-part session looks at the purpose and aims of workforce planning and how it can be effectively applied to a justice sector setting.
Over the past few years, public sector organisations have faced a recruitment and staffing crisis. A record number of public sector employees have left their profession with soaring levels of unfilled vacancies, deepening the skills and experience gap, pay disputes, and low levels of employee morale.
Workforce planning helps employers plan for the future by aligning their workforce to what the organisation needs in order to deliver effective services. It supports HR teams and senior leaders to think through what’s required within their workforce to meet and manage demands at a local, national, or service level in the face of skills and supply shortages.
The justice sector has started to understand the benefits of workforce planning, adopting some of the methodologies and providing the time and space for key individuals within their organisations to take accountability for workforce planning activities.
