Quality assurance audits

Benchmarking your learning and development
Benchmarking your learning and development function against the industry can help you understand what you’re doing well, and what you can improve, in order to provide the best learning opportunities for your employees. It gives you peace of mind and an independent verification of performance that you are supporting the delivery of vital public services effectively.
But what does a quality assurance audit entail and what does it look at?
Quality assurance framework
Using our quality assurance framework – our tailored framework for the justice sector aligned to the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework – we independently look at your training function to find evidence of good practice and produce recommendations on how you can enhance your learning experiences.
Process and systems auditing
A process and systems audit looks at a learning and development function as a whole, including ensuring that robust learning outcomes exist and different learning needs are accommodated. Using our framework and using industry best practice guidance, as well as standards set out by awarding organisations or regulators where appropriate, we look for evidence of the quality of learning you provide.
Content auditing
We can audit the training content of your courses or programmes, making sure that they align with best practice guidelines and any standards, frameworks or National Occupational Standards for learning outcomes. We provide expert recommendations for changes, and can work with you to review and update your training.

Mandatory compliance
Quality assurance is a mandatory process for organisations that offer formal learning and development opportunities to their employees. Internal as well as independent verification evidences that your learning opportunities are providing the valuable skills that your employees depend on, and allow you to incorporate best practice guidelines as they develop.
It is also mandatory when offering regulated qualifications and apprenticeship opportunities to learners, and gaining or maintaining accreditation as a training centre with awarding organisations. A quality assurance audit can be the first step to understanding what you need to do in order to expand the learning opportunities you provide.
