Jocelyn Anderson, West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre

Jocelyn Anderson, West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre

Jocelyn has been working within the specialist sexual violence sector since 2002, joining West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) as CEO in 2004. She is a qualified Counsellor (MSc) and experienced Consultative Supervisor (PG Diploma), as well as an Ambassador for the National Counselling Society and register member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Jocelyn has vast experience of multi-agency strategic planning and working; providing advice and consultancy support contributing to a wide range of forums, focus groups and national guidance. Jocelyn designs and delivers a range of training & continuous professional development courses. She has previously lectured at the University of Worcester and more recently at Hereford & Ludlow College. Her research interests include the causes and effects of vicarious trauma, burnout, and compassion fatigue.

Maya Badham, Welsh Women's Aid

Maya Badham, Welsh Women's Aid

Maya Badham is an Apprenticeship Development Manager and qualified Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Trainer for Welsh Women’s Aid, an umbrella organisation comprising of over 20 specialist violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence services across Wales including delivering the Live Fear Free Helpline. Maya is a subject matter expert in sexual violence and trauma informed practice, with a background in the topic spanning over a decade. She has a BA (hons) in History with a focus on the history of gendered oppression and sexual violence during conflict, a Master’s in Human Rights Law and is a qualified Independent Sexual Violence Advisor with a frontline background providing trauma informed, needs led and strengths based support for survivors of sexual abuse as well as advocating for survivors in multi-agency and statutory settings.

Dr Mwenya Chimba, Welsh Women's Aid

Dr Mwenya Chimba, Welsh Women's Aid

Mwenya Chimba is Head of Training at Welsh Women’s Aid. She has a wealth of knowledge in the violence against women and girls arena, with specific experience in developing services, training, and resources focusing on a BME perspective. Mwenya has been actively involved in policy and service development initiatives to tackle harmful practices in Wales. Mwenya is an avid researcher with 12 years experience working in different universities. In 2021 she was one of the Impact Assessors for the Research Excellence Framework. Mwenya has a BSc in Social Sciences, MA in Journalism and a PhD in Journalism, Media and Cultural studies with a focus on Gender inequalities and has more than 20 years’ experience in different management roles. In 2012 she was joint winner of the Marsh Christian award for work in the fight against human trafficking.

Cathy Gallagher, Skills for Justice

Cathy Gallagher, Skills for Justice

Cathy has been part of Skills for Justice since 2013, having previously worked in the Justice sector for over 20 years. An experienced project manager, Cathy has worked with employers on all aspects of role design. Cathy has provided technical advice to several employer groups; developing Apprenticeship Standards, providing quality assurance and interpretation and liaising with the Institute for Apprenticeships. She is also qualified and experienced in Assessment and Quality Assurance, and has supported organisations to develop and improve their own assessment and quality assurance provision.
