Police Scotland: Role profiles

Skills for Justice are working with Police Scotland to understand and review their approach to role profile design. Using our extensive experience and understanding of different systems that underpin this part of their workforce planning, we will be looking at best practice across the whole of the policing sector to create evidence-based recommendations for the force to consider.

Our approach and outcomes:

Review of the systems available for role design
Review of best practice across the UK in role design
Research to understand the implications and impacts of any changes made to role design within the force
Infusing new analytical and machine learning modules to help group role profiles into families
Co-designing new processes for role profile creation and dissemination
Recommendations for reducing administration costs
Creating consistency across profiles
