Laura Schell, experienced public sector leader, joins Skills for Justice as our new Client Director.
With 16 years’ public service across policing, local government, community safety and public health, Laura brings significant experience of improving outcomes for our communities. Through her career, she has led with a collaborative, inclusive and values-based approach to spearhead projects that address and reduce vulnerability, and support and strengthen communities.
A Business Change Manager and Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner, she understands the necessity for well-managed and effective change to meet the needs of a complex and challenging public sector landscape.
“Having worked as a public servant throughout my career I was attracted to working for The Workforce Development Trust across the Skills for Health and Skills for Justice brands, as their values and vision aligned with what I’d like to deliver and achieve.
“The opportunity to work with organisations across the health and justice sectors is a great chance to build on my existing knowledge and experience. Whilst nuanced, the complex and varying demands across the healthcare and justice systems are often inextricably linked. My role is to share best practice and problem solving across the industries for the partners that we work with, working with subject matter experts to deliver results.
“I’m excited by the projects and the opportunities ahead of me to help build effective workforces, and provide innovative solutions to the organisations carrying out vital public services every day. I’m committed to helping all of them to achieve their goals and deliver improved outcomes for the public.”
Laura joins Skills for Justice, part of The Workforce Development Trust group, also incorporating Skills for Health, SFJ Awards and People 1st International, where she will be working hand-in-hand with clients across the justice system to understand their needs and challenges.
