Ten events and awareness days for those in the justice sector

1. Time to Talk Day – 6 February 2025

This UK-wide initiative encourages open conversations about mental health. For justice professionals, this day serves as a reminder to address the mental health challenges often encountered in high-stress roles.

2. World Day of Social Justice – 20 February 2025

This day promotes equity, inclusion, and the fight against inequality, emphasising the critical role of legal systems in ensuring fairness, combatting discrimination, and protecting vulnerable communities.

3. International Women’s Day – 8 March 2025

A chance to celebrate and amplify the achievements of women across the UK justice system, from law enforcement officers to judiciary members. International Men’s Day is also an annual awareness day which celebrates the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. This takes place on 19 November.

4. Mental Health Awareness Week – 12-18 May 2025

This week is an excellent time for justice organisations to spotlight mental well-being initiatives, combat stigma, and promote resilience among professionals.

5. Modernising Criminal Justice Conference – 12 June 2025

This conference brings together UK policymakers, legal experts, and community leaders to explore new ways of advancing justice through technology and innovation.

6. Forensics Europe Expo – 18-19 June 2025

A leading UK event in forensic science, this expo highlights advancements in criminal investigations, providing insights into how technology supports justice delivery.

7. Emergency Services Day (999 Day) – 9 September 2025

This national day celebrates the dedication and sacrifices of UK emergency responders, including police, paramedics, and firefighters.

8. The Emergency Services Show – 17-18 September 2025

Held annually in Birmingham, this event is a hub for collaboration and innovation across emergency services, including police and fire.

9. Human Rights Day – 10 December 2025

A day to reflect on the UK’s commitment to upholding human rights, an essential cornerstone of the justice sector.

10. Inspire Justice Awards 2025 – Date to be announced

Hosted by Skills for Justice, this prestigious event recognises individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to the UK’s justice workforce. From innovative projects to everyday dedication, these awards shine a light on excellence in the sector.
